ClockWorks Configurator is an online tool enabling users to create designs/configurations, and request data sheets, part numbers, and samples for those designs.
ClockWorks user interface is graphical and easy to use. Dynamic data sheets and block diagrams are generated instantly for all your designs. At each phase email notifications are sent out to all involved parties to keep you up-to-date with the status of your request.
ClockWorks has different views and level of accessibilities based on the users "roles". Once the registration is successful and valid, user roles are assigned by the admin. Existing roles are "Registered User" (Customer), "FAE", "Sales", "Application", "Marketing", "Viewer", and "Tester". Obviously anonymous users do not have any role.

• Registered User: All non-Microchip users, including distributors
• FAE: Microchip FAE
• Sales: Microchip sales
• Application: Microchip application engineers
• Marketing: Microchip marketing team
• Viewer: Can view everything
• Tester: For testing and training purposes

Different design categories are:

• Private designs: not submitted by user yet. These can be viewed only by the design owner. At this phase a dynamic preliminary data sheet is generated.
• Submitted designs: submitted designs by user, waiting for Approval.
• Approved designs: designs that are approved by Microchip. At this phase a part number and a final dynamic data sheet is created.
• Rejected designs: designs that were submitted by user but are rejected by application engineer.

This help document explains the life of a design in ClockWorks for all different scenarios and roles.
